Exploring Wilson’s Run Trail

Staunton River Battlefield State Park will explore its new Wilson’s Run Trail on Jan. 1, at 11:30 a.m., and invites those interested to attend.

The 2-mile trail will open on New Year’s Day.

The exploring event will be held every two hours and will end at 5:30 p.m.

Participants will get to see local wildlife and learn about the history of the Battle of Staunton River Bridge.

Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash. Be sure to bring a jacket and wear comfortable hiking shoes or boots.

Hot cocoa will be offered at the end of each tour.

Parking fees will be waived for the day.

The first 50 guests in the park will receive a special 80th anniversary pin.
