In March a new Drakes Branch-based automotive repair shop will open at the intersection of Highways 47 and 59.
The shop will be operated by co-owner Jason Newcomb and his father, Sir Newcomb.
“We want to open an auto repair shop because we love what we do,” Jason said. “We like helping people and doing a good job. It’s what we’re good at. “
He said the shop will offer a variety of services to help customers with all of their auto repair needs.
Some of the services offered will include automotive service scanning, oil changes, air conditioning and transmission repairs, as well
as servicing rear ends, brakes and radiators.
“Everything on a car we can fix or make better,” Jason said. He said the shop will also process full auto body insurance claims in addition to personal repairs.
“Doing a good job is what we’re good at,” Jason said. “Nothing is worth doing unless you do it right.”
Jason said he and his father are also Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified and will bring a combined over 30 years of experience in auto and vehicle painting.
According to the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, the institute certifies “the automotive technician professional so they can offer tangible proof of their technical knowledge.”
According to the institute, ASE certification provides a peace of mind for shop owners and consumers that wish to seek out the level of expertise of a possible mechanic.
While Jason said an official opening date has not been set, plans are in place to open the doors for business at some point in March.
Hours for the business will be established once an official opening date has been set.
