A darkly hooded, gloved person allegedly broke into and robbed 360 Get N Go convenience store along Kings Highway during the early hours of Thursday, May 26 in Red Oak.
After breaking through the glass of one of the doors, the robber, unable to open the cash register, stole 35-40 packs of cigarettes and left, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office received a call from the store’s alarm system at 3:12 a.m.; the sheriff’s office said the robbery began approximately between 3:10-3:12 a.m. The person was in the store for less than a minute according to the 360 Get N Go’s security footage, said the store owner.
Between the cigarettes and the broken entryway, the sheriff’s office estimated the total damage to cost $1,000. The store owner said they had not yet been billed for the repair.
No suspects have been named at this time.
“We are pursuing leads right now,” the sheriff’s office said.
The convenience store, unfaltered, resumed normal operations less than two hours after the robbery, opening at 5 a.m.
Since the robbery, the owner said she has not changed anything with the store. This was the first time 360 Get N Go experienced a robbery.
