A Keysville man continues to be held without bond in the Charlotte County Jail on a charge of taking indecent liberties with a child under the age of 15. According to the sheriff’s office, deputies arrested Jose Ayala, 37, on July 17.

“This arrest was the result of a complaint made to the … sheriff’s office on July 7,” the office said. Ayala’s alleged illegal conduct with the child took place between March 1 and April 1.

Commonwealth’s Attorney William E. Green Jr. said Ayala waived his preliminary hearing and a grand jury will consider his charge on Oct. 5.
