The Central Middle School (CMS) golf team followed up a 9-0 regular season run with a triumph in the Southside Middle School Conference Tournament Oct. 4 at Mill Quarter Plantation in Powhatan.

The CMS Bobcats generated a 191 team score, eight strokes ahead of Park View.

“I thought we played well considering the course was a little soggy,” CMS Coach J.R. Allen said. “Overall, this is how I thought it was going to turn out.”

Dalton Lockridge, one of the CMS team’s six eighth-graders, led the way for the Bobcats with a 44.

Brenden Francisco shot a 46, Jordan Colbert shot a 48 and Caleb Shook registered a 53.

The Bobcats’ eighth-graders include Lockridge, Colbert, Francisco, Shook, Drew Dowdy and Caden Hottle.
