The Central Middle School girls basketball team played its home opener on Nov. 29 and defeated Amelia 22-20.

Lady Bobcats eighth-grader India Spencer, a returning starter, led all scorers with 15 points.

Returning eighth-grade starters Najada Robertson (two points) and Quamesha Brown (three points) each contributed to the scoring totals, as well as first-year starter and seventh-grader Taylor Trent (two points). Sixth-grade phenom Misha Clarke anchored the boards with multiple offensive and defensive rebounds, as well as several blocked shots and held balls. Eighth-graders Angel Tuck and Shakura Jennings contributed quality minutes, with Jennings getting several steals.
