DECEMBER 31
WATCH NIGHT SERVICE, 10 p.m. at Mossingford Baptist Church. The Rev. James Goode, Pastor of St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch will be the speaker. Music will be rendered by his choir. Everyone is invited.
NO WATCH NIGHT SERVICE, There will no watch night service at Salem Baptist Church, 4050 Salem School Road in Red Oak. There will also be no Sunday School. Prayer and praise service will begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Everyone is invited to attend.
JANUARY 15
COAT DRIVE, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Mt. Ellis Baptist Church in Keysville. The drive is sponsored by The Kappa Rho Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. The community is requested to donate new and used coats, hats, gloves, scarves and other winter items for children and adults. The drive will run until Jan. 15.
FEBRUARY 7
BEEKEEPING COURSE, 7-9 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Prince Edward Extension Office. This course is specifically designed for those who intend to start honeybee colonies. Material covered will include the history of honeybees, bee life cycle, seasonal management, equipment and supplies needed, integrated and sustainable management techniques, as well as hands-on session for establishing new colonies. Tuition of $100 per family unit includes three textbooks, course notebooks and CDs with presentation summaries, additional resources and one year’s membership in a beekeeping club.
