Governor urges preparation ahead of snow

Gov. Terry McAuliffe is urging Virginians to prepare for a major winter storm, which could result in up to one foot of snow in southeast Virginia, with the snowfall total across the Heart of Virginia estimated at 4-6 inches.
A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from Friday at 10 p.m. until Saturday at 10 p.m.
Snow is falling across the area and is expected to fall mainly this evening after 1 a.m., when new snow accumulation of one to five inches is possible. More snow is expected mainly Saturday morning, when new snow accumulation of 1-7 inches is possible.
