FEBRUARY 9

BLOOD DRIVE, 1-6 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Red Oak. The American Red Cross will hold the blood drive and Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak is the sponsor. Antioch Baptist Church is located at 6700 Barnesville Hwy.

WELLNESS WORKSHOP, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Charlotte Adult Learning Center. The workshop will include an Introduction to Tai Chi, the Moving Meditation. Call the Charlotte Adult Learning Center at (434) 542-5782 for more information.

FEBRUARY 12

TRINITY GOSPEL ANNIVERSARY, 10 a.m. special singing and 11 a.m. worship service. Trinity Gospel Church in Drakes Branch will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Lunch will follow the service; everyone is welcome. Trinity Gospel is located at 9670 Kings Hwy. (Route 360).

BLACK HISTORY CELEBRATION, 3 p.m. at White Oak Grove Baptist Church in Phenix. People with various talents will be participating on the program. Delicious soul food will be served after the program.

BLACK HISTORY CELEBRATION, 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Keysville. There will be a gospel singing and a one-act play. The public is invited. Refreshments will be served after the program.

FEBRUARY 15

SMARTPHONE LITERACY WORKSHOP, 10:30 a.m.-noon at the Charlotte Adult Learning Center. Classes will include basic knowledge, texting, calling, application downloading and application usage. This workshop prepares individuals to work with adult students in literacy, numeracy and ESOL (English for Speakers of other Languages). SPAGHETTI DINNER, take out from 4-5 p.m. and eat in from 5-7 p.m. at the Abilene Community Center. Proceeds will benefit the building fund. The meal will consist of spaghetti, tossed salad, homemade french bread, homemade dessert and a beverage. This event is sponsored by Beulah United Methodist Church. Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance from any church member. Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for children 10 and under. For more information, call Betty Gryder at (434) 223-8343.

AFRICAN-AMERICAN HISTORY CELEBRATION, 2 p.m. at the Workforce Development Center in Keysville. The Central High Museum will celebrate African American history. The Blackstone Community Choir will be present.
