The Charlotte County Meals on Wheels will host its annual gala on March 11 at 6 p.m., at the Southside Virginia Community College Workforce Development Center.

The theme for this year’s Gala will be “Helping Hands,” according to event organizers.

“These hands recognize the drivers, board members and others who donated approximately 6,000 hours and drove about 67,500 miles in 2016 to deliver a total of 12,677 hot and frozen meals. Since being founded in 2004, dedicated drivers have delivered 108,905 meals to the senior and disabled clients who are unable to prepare healthy meals for themselves.”

The gala will include a dinner with rotisserie chicken and sliced ham as the main entrées. “The event will also feature a silent auction with many lovely items. A raffle drawing for a handcrafted swing-leg table will be held and door prizes will be given away.”
