Charlotte County is blessed in many ways — with a beautiful countryside, good public schools and great residents and business owners. The county is also blessed in what its people do for one another — more importantly — how they care for each other in their times of need. Case in point is this Sunday’s presence of more than 170 people in the Bacon District Volunteer Fire Department supporting the Barksdale Cancer Foundation during its annual bingo event, one that raises thousands of dollars for the group, which supports those battling cancer in Charlotte County. We commend the community for supporting such a worthwhile cause and the foundation for its hard work and years of service to those battling cancer.
