BLOOD DRIVE, Mt. Calvary UMC will not be holding a Red Cross Blood Drive for the month of April due to lack of Red Cross staff. The next drive is scheduled for June 15.

BARKSDALE SCHOLARSHIP, The Barksdale Cancer Foundation is sponsoring a one-time scholarship for high school graduates pursuing a medical career. Scholarship information and guidelines may be picked up at your school guidance office or downloaded from www.charlotteva.com. Information must be received by April 15. RETIRED TEACHERS SCHOLARSHIP, The Charlotte County Retired Teachers will offer a scholarship to high school seniors or college students who plan to teach school. Applications can be picked up at the Randolph-Henry High School guidance office or by contacting Kaye at (434) 454-6238. Applications are due by April 15.
KIDZ CONSIGNMENT SALE, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Southside Virginia Community College in Keysville. Team Cassidy will be sponsoring the kids consignment sale. Those interested in consigning should contact Kristen at kduffer@gmail.com. All profits from the sale will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
EASTER EGG HUNT, 11 a.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church in Keysville. The event will feature more than 1,000 eggs and the Easter story will be presented by Pastor Todd Childers. All are invited to stay and enjoy a hotdog lunch. The church is located at 401 Southern Dr.
EASTER EGG HUNT, 11 a.m. at Cullen Baptist Church. Prizes will be awarded and lunch will be served. All children 12 and under are invited to participate.
USDA FOOD DISTRIBUTION, 10 a.m.- noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Red House. USDA food can only be received at one site. Food will only be given to those in the Phenix and surrounding Red House community. COMMUNITY EASTER EGG HUNT, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Phenix Elementary School. The Egg Hunt is for kids of all ages through fifth grade. The event will also feature a bouncer, obstacle course and lunch. For more information call (434) 376-3574.

EASTER SON-RISE SERVICE, 7 a.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church in Keysville. Experience an outdoor Easter Son-Rise Service. Breakfast will be served by the men of Emmanuel Bible Church in the fellowship hall. The church is located at 401 Southern Dr.
EASTER SUNDAY, at Providence Baptist Church. Sunrise Service will begin at 6:35 a.m., followed by a fellowship breakfast at 7:15 a.m. Sunday School will resume at 9 a.m., followed by regular service at 10 a.m.

BENEFIT MOTORCYCLE RIDE, 9 a.m. to benefit the Burkeville Lodge for the Blind. Registration is at 9 a.m. at the Burkeville Lodge, 341 Oak St., Burkeville. Ride begins at 10 a.m. Day includes 145-mile scenic ride to Lovingston, lunch at the Burkeville Lodge and drawings. Route details will be handed out the morning of the ride. Cost is $20 per rider, includes lunch, $10 per passenger with lunch. Contact Harold Wagstaff at (434) 603-1433 for more information.
CHICKEN SUPPER, 5 p.m. at Salem Christian. The menu will include chicken, assorted vegetables and desserts. Cost is $8 per plate for adults and $5 for children under 7.
WOMEN’S PRAYER BREAKFAST, 9 a.m. at Morrison Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. The speaker will be Lillian Johnson. The Women’s Empowerment Bible Study invites all women to come enjoy breakfast and hear the word of God.

DENIM DAY, Tri-County Community Action Agency, Inc. would appreciate your help and support during the month of April. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Join them and stand up for an end to sexual violence by wearing jeans on Denim Day.

CANNING WORKSHOP, 6-8 p.m. at the Southern Piedmont AREC in Blackstone. Class topics will include the science of canning, canning recipes, storage of canned goods and how to can with a pressure, hot water bath and steam canners.
