August 28-30

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at Salem Baptist Church in Red Oak. Associate Ministers Carolyn Pearson, Angela Cook and Loretta Bailey will bring the word.

August 28-September 1

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at St. Louis Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. There will be different choirs each night. Everyone is welcome.

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. nightly at Triumph Church. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Darryl Brown, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Prospect. A guest choir will sing nightly.

September 2

PROVERBS 31 MAN SERVICE, 4 p.m. at Pleasant Oak Baptist Church in Victoria. Guests will be the Rev. Frank Watson, St. Luke Church Choir and the Gospel Traveliers, of Farmville.

PAMPLIN DEPORT BARN DANCE, 6-8 p.m. at the Pamplin Train Deport. Admission is free. Meals may be purchased for $5. Music will be provided by the Farm Use Old Time String Band.

GOSPEL PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Galilee Baptist Church. Dinner will be served.

September 3

REVIVAL, 11 a.m. at Concord Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. Fellowship lunch will follow

September 5

BEEKEEPERS MEETING, 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office. There will be a demonstration of how to make a candy board for winter feeding of honeybees. Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome. Call Mary Jane Morgan at (434) 315-1433 for more information.

September 4-6

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church in Charlotte Court House. Concord Baptist Church is located 3225 Germantown Road. The word will be delivered by Pastor Bill Mason.

September 9

WOMEN’S ANNUAL TEA, 2-4 p.m. at Morrison Grove Baptist Church. All women are invited. Bring your favorite tea cup. This event is sponsored by the women’s empowerment bible study.

ANNUAL YARD SALE FUNDRAISER, 7 a.m.-noon at 135 American Dream Lane in Drakes Branch. Help brighten a child’s Christmas.

September 10

FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 11 a.m. at Nazareth Baptist Church. Pastor Charles Woolfork, of White Oak Grove Baptist Church, along with his mass choir will render the service. Dinner will be served afterward. Please bring a prayer or testimony with you.

September 12

BLOOD DRIVE, 2-6 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church.

September 15

POW-MIA DAY, 11 a.m. at the Charlotte County Administration Building lawn. This event is hosted by the Charlotte County VFW Post 8902. Guest speaker will be Greg Eanes.

September 22

BLOCK PARTY, 4-7 p.m. at Wayland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Keysville. The event will feature a bouncy house, dunking booth, barrel cars, Child ID service provided by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, food for sale and more.

September 30

BENEFIT RIDE, 9:30 a.m. at the Drakes Branch Pavilion. Southside Buffalo Soldiers will sponsor this ride for fallen Buffalo Soldier George Roberts. Cost is $15 per rider and $5 per passenger. Proceeds will assist with son Jacoby Roberts. For more information call (804) 665-8860.

October 7

OPPORTUNITY FUND SKEET CLASSIC, 8 a.m. at the Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center in Appomattox for graduating high school seniors in Southside Electric Cooperative’s (SEC) service area. In just two years, 30 $1,000 scholarships have been given to students headed to college or a trade/technical school whose parents or guardians are served by SEC. The individual registration fee for the skeet shoot is $75, while squads of five can sign up for $325. All participants must provide their own guns and ammunition, and skeet shooters of all levels are welcome. The event is limited to the first 50 participants, who must register in advance. The deadline to sign up is Sept. 26. Sponsorship and donation opportunities are available for businesses and individuals who’d like to support this event. Sponsor returns include having a squad in the event, banners, signage and recognition in the event program.
