On Sunday evening, Oct. 8, 2017, God in his infinite wisdom and divine love sent His Holy angels to Carla Womack Trent’s home in Brookneal, Virginia to bring her home to eternal rest. Carla, the loving daughter of Shirley Womack Bedford, was born in Prince Edward County on May 28, 1962.

Carla worked at Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services in Lynchburg, Virginia until her health began to fail her. Her loving personality and always willing to help others will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Carla was preceded in death by her twin sister, Paula Womack; grandparents, Deacon Fred and Deaconess Margaret Womack; uncles, Danny and Roger Womack. To treasure her life, Carla leaves her devoted and loving mother, Shirley Womack Bedford; husband, Rufus Trent; two sons, Areliuis and Travis Smiley; five beautiful grandchildren, Travis Jr., Alexis, Chriftan, Chavlya, and Yameria; two nephews, Kyle and Kevin; one niece, Crystal; three uncles, Fred Womack, Jr.(Beulah), Charles G. Womack, and Larry Womack (Michele); aunt, Phyllis Spencer Womack; other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services were held 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at St. Andrews Baptist Church in Cullen, Virginia with interment in the church cemetery.
