After inclement weather delayed conclusion of the Charlotte County Major League and Instructional All-Star teams’ district tournament openers Friday, they finished their games Saturday afternoon, each falling by two-run margins.

The Charlotte County Majors trailed 3-0 against the host Lunenburg County Youth Baseball League All-Stars, but then Charlotte County closed the score to 3-2. The team was unable to get any closer, however, and Lunenburg prevailed 4-2.

At 3 p.m. on Sunday, the Charlotte County Majors All-Stars face the Blackstone Majors All-Stars in an elimination game at Lenhart Field.

Locked in a 2-2 tie in the fourth inning when lightning and a thunderstorm intervened Friday, the Charlotte County Instructional All-Stars ended up falling 9-7 to the Prince Edward-Farmville Youth Association All-Stars on Saturday in Victoria.

At 3 p.m. on Sunday, the Charlotte County Instructional All-Stars face the Dinwiddie National All-Stars in an elimination game at Neblett Field.
