The third annual festival at Bumper’s in Drakes Branch has been set for Aug. 4, with a variety of fun and entertainment available this year.
According to Bumper’s owner Lisa Daniel, the festival is a good time for everyone to enjoy.
She said this year’s festival will run from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and include music by Calvin and Company of Concord from 9-11 a.m. and Deep Creek from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
The event will also include a food truck, barbecue, crafts, yard sale vendors and Avon.
While there is no more space available for food vendors, Daniel said the event is still accepting other vendors, including yard sale items and crafts.
She said there is no fee for vendors to set up at the festival.
“What they make is what they get; I get no money from it,” said Daniel previously. “Anybody (who) wants to sell something, they can bring it out and sell it to get a little extra money because now, everybody needs extra money.”
According to Daniel, previous events have drawn about 200 people from community.
“We try to get a little bit bigger and bigger every year,” said Daniel previously.
The event was first held in 2016 at the new location in Drakes Branch.
Daniel previously said the event took the place of annual Scuffletown Days celebration, which was held at the previous location in Scuffletown for five years.
“We wouldn’t be what we are without the locals,” she said at that time.
Bumper’s is located at 7170 Crafton’s Gate Highway in Drakes Branch. For more information, Contact Lisa Daniel at (434) 568-3520.
