R-H girls volleyball teams start 2-8

Randolph-Henry High School’s varsity and junior varsity (JV) girls volleyball teams have each begun the season with 1-4 records, combining for a 2-8 start after going a combined 0-4 last week.

The varsity Lady Statesmen were highly competitive Sept. 11 against host Central Lunenburg High School, but they lost 3-2. They also fell 3-0 to host Nottoway High School on Sept. 12.

The JV Lady Statesmen were shut out last week, losing 2-0 to both host Nottoway on Sept. 12 and host Central Lunenburg on Sept. 11.

Randolph-Henry’s teams visit Buckingham County High School on Thursday, JV at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.
