Allen E. Lumpkin

Allen E. Lumpkin, age 73, of Keysville, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018, after a long illness with cancer. He was born and raised in Danville, VA, the son of the late Elsworth and Eunice Lumpkin. Allen attended George Washington High School in Danville, Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, and Thomas Dale High School in Chester. He graduated from VCU/MCV School of Pharmacy in 1977. Allen served four years in the U. S. Air Force; twelve months were served in Vietnam. In 1971 Allen married Janice Hall in Eureka Baptist Church. In 1998 he purchased Charlotte Drug Company where he served as a Pharmacist until his illness. He is survived by Janice; his son, Brandon E. Lumpkin (Candi); and his granddaughter, Gemma.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 19, in Eureka Baptist Church, Keysville, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, on Thursday, October 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or TPAC 471 Nollie Road, Phenix, VA 23959.
