Keysville Christmas Parade held

The Town of Keysville held its annual Christmas parade Friday on King Street. Despite the chilly weather, spectators lined the street in preparation for the parade.
This year’s Grand Marshal for the event was Wallace Stokes and the parade was hosted by Samantha Dunn Miller.
Winners in the different categories were as follows: Show vehicle, first place, Bug Busters; second place, Backwoods Towing and Recovery and third place Jayden Blanton.
School, first place, Phenix Elementary and second place Eureka Elementary. Religious Float, first place, Keysville United Methodist Church. Emergency Vehicles, first place, Charlotte County Rescue Squad; second place, Meherrin Volunteer Fire Department and third place, Southside Virginia EMS Riding Group. Marching Unit, first place, Charlotte County Patriots Flag/Cheer; second place, Minors/Cheer and third place, JV/Varsity. Business float, first place, Dr. Bill Rutherford; second place, the Painted Palm. Tractor, first place, Earl Dix. Band, first place, Randolph-Henry. Civic float, first place, Charlotte County Special Olympics and second place, Charlotte County Grey’s.
