In a statement released by Charlotte County Public Schools (CCPS) this afternoon, the school division, in addition to local and state police are investigating a written bomb threat found at Central Middle School.
“Central Middle School received a written bomb threat on a student restroom wall late this afternoon,” the release from CCPS cited. “As a precaution the local Sheriff’s Department is conducting a search of Central Middle School this evening. As an additional precaution, the Virginia State Police will also assist by bringing in an explosive detecting dog.”
Officials at CCPS cited that “although we believe the message on the restroom wall is a student prank, we are taking this threat very seriously and taking all necessary precautions to maintain the safety of our students.”
