Law enforcement in the county is investigating a report of racist and threatening messages sent to employees of a Dollar General store.

Several texts were sent between Jan. 23 and Feb. 6, according to two employees who received the texts. A copy of the texts provided by one of the store employees, Dajour Davis, who received the texts contained racial epithets and the home addresses of store employees.

A second employee, who asked not to be identified, said they also began receiving texts Jan. 23.

Davis and the other employee said they were employed with the Dollar General store located in Wylliesburg.

Johnny Wright, an investigator with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said Monday the incident is under investigation. The investigator said there are no identified suspects, and could not comment further on the case.

Management with the Dollar General location, when contacted Friday by The Gazette, declined to comment on the case.
