SUMMER READING CHALLENGE, at Wylliesburg Community Library for ages 6-13. Come by and learn how you can win a free ice cream cone and be entered into a drawing for lots of goodies.

JUNE 26 

STORYTIME, 10 a.m. at Wylliesburg Library for preschoolers ages 3-5.

FUN AND CRAFT DAY, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library. Games, giveaways, water attractions, food, drinks, crafts and more. Come out to the park with the library and support local business. Dress to get wet and bring a T-shirt for tie-dying.

JUNE 27 

COMPULSIVE EATERS ANONYMOUS MEETING, 10-11 a.m. at Farmville Presbyterian Church, 200 W. Third St., Farmville. Join for help recovering from compulsive eating. For more information contact Debbie at (518) 248- 7220 or Joan at (434) 607-1576.

PAINT THE PLANETS, 2-3 p.m. at Patrick Henry Memorial Library for children and families. Canvas, paint and materials will be provided for families. Pre-registration is required through the library website.

MUSICAL SERVICE, 11 a.m. Union Grove Baptist Church, 2006 County Line Road, Keysville. Lunch will be served at noon. Musical guests are The Churchmen from North Carolina. All are welcome.

JULY 1-5 

REVIVAL, 7 p.m. at St. Douglas Baptist Church, Charlotte. The Reverends Loretta Bailey and John Craighead will be the guest preachers along with a guest choir each night. All are welcome.

JULY 2 

PAPER, PAPER,PAPER, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at J. Roberts Jamerson Library. Learn the Japanese inspired arts of papercraft and origami. Lots of nice paper and instructions for building many cool paper creations.

BLOOD DRIVE, 1:30-6 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church. Power red available and tee shirts for donors. Come and donate to support our community.

BEEKEEPERS MEETING, 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office across from Lowe’s in Farmville. The discussion will be “Where We Are With Our Bees.” Anyone who has bees or is interested in bees is welcome. HOMECOMING, 11:30 a.m. at St. Douglas Baptist Church, Charlotte. Pastor, the Rev. Wendell Brown will bring the morning message. Dinner will be served. All are welcome.

JULY 9 

CHEAP THRILLS, 6-8 p.m. at the J. Robert Jamerson Library, ages 13-plus. Gucci, Versace, Supreme: brands famous for high price tags and ridiculous over-the-top style. Bring your old, used, goodwill clothes and we’ll Gucci them out with rhinestones, straps, logos, paint, found items and more — the sky’s the limit.

BREAST CANCER WORKSHOP, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at R. T. Arnold Library, South Hill for women of all ages. Free blood pressure and sugar screening available. Learn about breast health education and awareness, intervention and early detection.
