CRC budget adopted

The Commonwealth Regional Council’s (CRC) Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 budget was adopted through a unanimous vote by members of the CRC during its meeting June 19.
The FY 2020 budget includes total revenue of $831,076, which differs from the $923,200 total revenue from FY 19.
While funds from local member investment, VA Regional Cooperation and other funding in FY 20 is set to be the same as FY 19, project funding cost are expected to come to $115,350 for FY 20, as opposed to $205,100 in FY 19.
Estimated total expenditures for FY 20 is estimated for $324,972 compared with $392,008 in FY 19.
The FY 20 budget cites decreases in costs for personnel at $272,162 versus $278,026 for FY 19, office equipment at $3,920 versus $8,100, local relations at $50 versus $600 and other program costs at $1,800 versus $61,800. It cites increases to office operations at $31,815 compared to $31,321, staff travel at $4,700 compared with $4,500, meetings/memberships at $8,025 compared to $7,325 and collateral materials at $2,500 compared with $336.
Area counties providing investments include Charlotte County, contributing $19,000.
For project funding, the Charlotte Court House Evergreen sidewalk project has a continued, amended contract of $6,000 estimated for FY 2020. The Keysville Comprehensive Plan has an estimated continued fund of $12,500, the Phenix water project has an estimated continued fund of $11,175. New estimated project funds include a Homeland Security Regional Emergency Plan Grant at $19,475 and the 2019 CRC Watershed Implementation Plan with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality at $21,500.
