SUMMER READING CHALLENGE, at Wylliesburg Community Library for ages 6-13. Come by and learn how you can win a free ice cream cone and be entered into a drawing for lots of goodies.
JULY 13
BIBLE SCHOOL, 9 a.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church, 401 Southern Drive, Keysville. Theme: “Let’s Go Fishing.” Closing ceremonies will take place at 4 p.m. with a fish fry to follow for parents and children.
GOLF TOURNAMENT, 1 p.m. at Hat Creek Golf Course. Dinner will be served for players afterward. Proceeds are to benefit the Randolph-Henry Marching Statesmen. For more information call (434) 390-2308.

PACK THE PEW, 10:30 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church. Casual attire. Activities and cook-out after worship service. All are welcome to come and meet our new Pastor, the Rev. Horace Parham.
FAMILY AND FRIENDS/MEN’S DAY, 11 a.m. at Galilee Baptist Church. A cookout will follow. Dress casual.
92ND CHURCH ANNIVERSARY, 3 p.m. at New Rehoboth Baptist, Saxe. Everyone welcome. Dinner will be served.
JULY 16
OUTDOOR ACTIVITY, 11 a.m.-1p.m. at J. Robert Jamerson Library. Frisbee, Hippity Hops, water balloons, badminton, bubbles and lots of fun. Get outside and have a blast.
JULY 19
SHARK IN THE PARK, 9-11 a.m. at J. Robert Jamerson Library for all ages. The library presents the latest man eating shark blockbuster, “The Meg.” Popcorn, bottled water, snow cones and suspense. Bring blankets and chairs for this PG-13 adventure.
FUNDRAISER, 7 p.m. for the Red House Fire Department. The event will be held at Appomattox High School, 198 Evergreen Drive, Appomattox, featuring James Gregory, “the funniest man in America.”
JULY 20
BIBLE SCHOOL, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Cullen Baptist Church. Lunch will be served. We look forward to seeing you, and don’t forget to bring a friend.
JULY 21
FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 11 a.m. at Mossingford Baptist Church, 355 Saxey Road, Saxe. The Rev. Fleshman from St. Louis Baptist Church along with his choir will be the guest speaker for that day. Dress casual.
PASTOR’S AID PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch. Retired State Trooper James D. Gregory will be the speaker and the SMG choir will be in concert. Everyone is welcome. The Rev. James E. Goode is the pastor.
AUGUST 22
COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR, 5:30 p.m. at the Estes Community Center, Chase City. Registration is recommended by calling (434) 532-8190. The event is free.
SEPTEMBER 7
COMMUNITY FUN DAY, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Emmanuel Bible Church, 401 Southern Drive, Keysville. Let’s all come together as a community and get to know one another. Great fellowship and fun for everyone in the Lord. Attractions include Inflatables, cake walk, music, food, indoor and outdoor games and more. Come on out for good Christian fun.
