The Museum of Charlotte County will sponsor a celebration of Charlotte County’s Arts, Crafts and Rural Heritage this Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The rain or shine event will be held on the Courthouse Square and include living history demonstrations, indoor and outdoor exhibits, children’s activities, performances and live music.
There is no admission fee to attend the festival however food will be available for purchase.
The interior of the historic courthouse will be used for an exhibit of art by local students, according to P.K. Pettus, vice chair, Museum of Charlotte County.
“In the Grandma’s Chores tent young people will learn how to churn butter, knead dough, cut biscuits, wash clothes with a tub and washboard plus other once routine tasks,” said Pettus.
In addition, choral performances by students and a play presented by the Eureka Elementary Ecology Club will take place in front of the new courthouse.
Living history demonstrations will include spinning, weaving, pottery and rope making.
Antique trucks and tractors will be on display while the cheerful chugs of an old “hit or miss” engine will provide background music.
