Randolph-Henry’s (R-H) yearbook, “The Log 2019” won the Trophy Class Award from Virginia High School League (VHSL).

Each year, the book is sent to VHSL for judging. Yearbooks are evaluated in five categories: concept, coverage, design, writing, and photography.

Results are not heard until the following year. These critiques help the students learn how their publication can improve. Last year’s book, “Diamond in the Rough,” received Trophy Class from VHSL.

Trophy Class is awarded to schools who embody outstanding achievement in publications service to its school and community. This is the first time Randolph-Henry has won Trophy Class for yearbook.

This book focused on the 75th anniversary of “The Log.” The editor for the 2019 edition was Carletta Anderson, photography manager was Cole Pillow, and business manager was Madeline Ferguson. Staff members included Hannah Goldman, Anisha Marable, Colby Bailey, Callie Tharpe, Madison Scarberry and Patricia Garcia. The adviser was Alyson N. Oseguera.

The current yearbook staff is diligently working on “The Log 2020.” The 2020 book is currently available for pre-purchase and is expected to arrive in May 2020.
