A Keysville man was killed on Nov. 18 when a tractor-trailer and the 1996 Subaru Legacy he was driving collided.

According to Corinne N. Geller, Public Relations Director with the Virginia State Police, Samuel Umphlette Sr., 72 died at the scene of the accident that occurred around 2:17 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 360 and Route 47 in the Crafton’s Gates area of Drakes Branch.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
