NOVEMBER 27 

PRE-THANKSGIVING SERVICE, 7 p.m. at Triumph Baptist Church. The Rev. Maurice Finney, pastor of the St. Andrews Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher accompanied by his choir. Everyone is welcome to attend. The church is located on the Darlington Heights Road in Prince Edward County.

NOVEMBER 30 

IN CONCERT, 6 p.m. at Ontario Christian Church will be gospel recording artist Michael Wayne Smith of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The church is located at 175 Old Kings Road (Hwy. 622 & 360), Drakes Branch. Come out and join us in kicking off the holiday season with an evening of Christmas music.

DECEMBER 1 

CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE, 3-5 p.m. for the Town of Drakes Branch in the Municipal building. Celebrate the season with your friends and neighbors, and enjoy an afternoon of assorted finger foods. Door prizes will be given out, and each child will receive a stocking, while supplies last. If you would like to contribute any food, call the town office at (434) 568-3091, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and let us know what you will bring.

DECEMBER 2 

QUARTER AUCTION, 1:30 p.m. with local direct sales ladies at Bacon District Fire Department, 2000 Barnesville Hwy., Wylliesburg. Bring your friends and plenty of quarters for bidding. For more information contact Hazel Bowman Smith (434) 735-8276.

DECEMBER 3 

BEEKEEPERS TO MEET, 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office near Lowe’s in Farmville. The holiday dinner will be catered by Family Affair Catering, but members who would like to bring a dish are welcome to do so. On the agenda is elections and more info about the bee school. KEYSVILLE CHRISTMAS PARADE, 7 p.m. Get ready for the floats, music, lights and smiles. Santa will follow up the parade and stop at the King Street Church, across from the main judges platform.

ANNUAL PROGRAM, 2:30 p.m. of The Pannell family at Mount Calvary Baptist Church on Mount Calvary Road, Brookneal. Everyone is welcome.

DECEMBER 14

CHRISTMAS CONCERT, 3:30 p.m. featuring Goff Mountain Gospel Bluegrass at Mt. Carmel U.M.C., 1101 Mt. Carmel Road, Brookneal. All are welcome.

DECEMBER 21 

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM, 5 p.m. at Mt. Carmel UMC. A covered-dish dinner following the program. Come and join us to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. “O, Come Let Us Adore Him.”
