FEBRUARY 1 

AREA 3 MEN’S QUARTERLY MEETING, of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia at the Cherrystone Missionary Baptist Association Center located at 5551 Tom Fork Road, Ringgold at 10 a.m. Men from the churches in the Bluestone Harmony Association, The Banister Missionary Baptist Association, The Cherrystone Missionary Baptist Association and The Sunnyside Missionary Baptist Association are encouraged to attend.

FEBRUARY 4 

HEART OF VA BEEKEPERS TO MEET, 7 p.m. at the Prince Edward County Extension Office near Lowe’s in Farmville. State Bee Inspector Josh Martin will speak. COMMUNITY MEETING, 7 p.m. at Bacon District Firehouse, hosted by Kay Pierantoni.

FEBRUARY 8 

INTERFAITH DEVOTIONAL, 7 p.m. for followers of all faiths and none at 771 Greenfield Road, Charlotte Courthouse. Prayers, music, socializing and refreshments.

DAR TO MEET, 10 a.m., the Judith Randolph-Longwood Chapter, at the Farmville-Prince Edward Library. Guest speaker will be Robin Warren, owner of Glory Reins Ranch, Cumberland. Her presentation is titled “A Place to Heal”.

FEBRUARY 9 

BLACK HISTORY CELEBRATION, 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Keysville. A one-act play will be presented. Guest singers will be singing gospel songs. Dinner will be after the service. The public is welcome.

FEBRUARY 12 

DARK-FIRED TOBACCO & PIEDMONT BURLEY MEETING, 10 a.m. at Midway Baptist Church, Phenix. This meeting will serve as grower training to satisfy the requirements set forth in the U.S. Tobacco GAP program and credit will be issued to individuals who attend the meeting in its entirety. EARLY CHILDHOOD HEALTH AND WELLNESS FAIR, 5-8 p.m. at Phenix Elementary School. The target audience is the parents of children ages 2 to 8. The VPI Steering Committee hopes through this event they promote and support the health and well-being of young students to set a solid and strong foundation for future health and education.

FEBRUARY 15 

RAINBOW OF RIBBONS PAGEANT, 3:30 p.m., a fundraiser for Barksdale Cancer Foundation at Randolph-Henry High School. For more information call (434) 607- 0189 or (434) 735-8699.

AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY PROGRAM, 1 p.m. hosted by the Central High Museum at the St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Willie Tisdale of South Hill. Music provided by the St. Michael Baptist Church choir. All guests are encouraged to wear African attire. Dinner will be served. All are welcome.

CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT, 6 p.m. at Red House Volunteer Fire Department. Registration begins at 6 p.m. Winner will receive a monetary prize. There will be a 50/50 drawing and food available for purchase.
