The Charlotte County office of Central Virginia Health Services (CVHS), previously known as Charlotte Primary Care, has launched a new service to better address mental health needs.
According to Marketing and Data Coordinator for CVHS Freddie Berry the Charlotte office will be offering Mental Health Telehealth program.
“This new service will expand access to mental health services across Southside and is another avenue to meet the needs of diverse populations by bridging the gap between patients and needed services,” Berry said.
According to Berry, the leader of the program will be Annetta Williams. Williams is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 years of experience in a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities, outpatient mental health treatment centers, Department of Social Services, in-home counseling agencies, and residential treatment facilities.
In 2016, Mental Health of America reported 56% of U.S. adults with mental health conditions do not receive proper treatment. One variable leading to this statistic is people’s lack of access to quality care.
