Several major administrative changes will be taking place during the 2020-21 school year.

Dr. Lawrence Randolph will be leaving CCPS at the end of this school year, and relocating to Fairfax, Virginia to continue his career in special education. Randolph currently serves as the special education director for CCPS.

Special education responsibilities for the school division will be split between Jamie Brown, who will serve as director of special programs, and Dr. Shep Critzer who will serve as the director of student services. In addition to working with special education, Brown will also continue to work with the Virginia Preschool Initiative, new teacher mentoring, as well as many other administrative areas. Critzer, who has served as principal at Randolph-Henry High School for two years, will work with special education, career and technical education (CTE), and teacher recruitment, along with other administrative duties in the school division.

With Critzer’s new assignment, Erin Davis has been named principal of Randolph-Henry High School. Davis has served as both a science teacher as RHHS, and most recently as one of the school’s assistant principals. Rebecca Saunders will replace Davis as assistant principal at RHHS. Saunders is currently employed with Halifax County Public Schools where she has been instrumental in helping teachers and students with instruction, including the high school’s one-to-one technology integration.

I wish Randolph well in his new endeavors. He will be missed here in CCPS, but I know that he will excel in his new role with Fairfax Schools. Critzer and Brown will do a great job in ensuring that our students with disabilities are served well. Davis has a wealth of knowledge concerning how to effectively lead a high school, and she also has a good understanding of the dynamics at RHHS. The addition of Saunders, along with the experience of Christopher Holt, who also serves as assistant principal, will provide her with a great team at Randolph-Henry.
