Mrs. Margaret Ann Shuford Morton, 81 of Charlotte Court House, transitioned into the arms of God on June 20, 2020. Meeting her in heaven were Margaret’s beloved husband, Arthur William Morton, Sr.; a son, Clyde; a grandson, Adrian; her parents, Mr. Fred Shuford and Mrs. Dorthrine Shuford; and sisters, Marie Evans, Bessie Venable, and Patsie Foster.
She leaves to cherish memories, three loving and devoted sons, Arthur Jr. (Ollie), all of Richmond, Franklin Sr. (Angela) and Lonnie (Darlene), all of Charlotte Court House; grandchildren, Alana, Tyler, Whitley, Alexander, Allison, Franklin Jr., Delonta, Omari, and Lonnie “LJ”; great grandson, Tyshawn; aunt, Edna Braddock of New York, NY; sister, Adell Blackwell of Norwalk, CT; brother, Fred Shuford, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; brothers-in-law, James (Valarie) and Robert Douglas (Rose), sisters-in-laws, Melvina, Florence Lockett, all of Charlotte Court House and Glady Morton of Richmond; a special cousin, Robinette Anderson-Mccarley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Morton was a lifelong resident of Charlotte County and attended CCPS and was a faithful and devoted member of St. Louis Baptist Church for over 60 years. Her legacy is the strength, caring heart, hardworking spirit and foundation she created for her sons and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her deep faith in God, smile and famous potato salad.
A graveside funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2020 at St. Louis Baptist Church Cemetery in Charlotte Court House with interment in the church cemetery.
