This year, Randolph-Henry High School hopes to continue the Statesmen Care program.
The main hall restrooms feature a donation shelf for personal care products to be used by the young men and women of the school. By placing these items in the restrooms, students can discretely obtain what is needed without the embarrassment of having to ask. The school has programs to address student needs in terms of hunger, but some children lack the basic items they need to maintain proper personal care. The school hoped that with the continuation of this program all of Statesmen will feel fresh and ready to learn each day.
Being clean and healthy builds confidence, promotes good attendance, and can help prevent bullying. Students will be allowed to take what they need free of charge and with no questions asked.
Donations can be dropped off at the school between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, may contact Erin Davis, principal of Randolph-Henry High School, at 434-542-4111.
Suggested items include: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouth wash, brushes/combs, lip balm, wipes, and sanitary napkins. Please no razors.
