Alcohol and cigarettes stolen from store

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the breaking and entering (B&E) of a convenience store in Madisonville.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched to the Corner Grocery located on Thomas Jefferson Highway on Monday, Sept. 7, around 7 a.m. when the owner noticed someone had broken into the store.

Entry to the store was gained by breaking into the back of the store, knocking out wood that is used to board up an opening, and pushing over a drink cooler.

Alcohol and cigarettes were reported stolen.
