Keysville has a new restaurant thanks to owner Jason Badeaux who opened Magnolia Bar & Grille Wednesday, Jan 6.
Badeaux, who lives in Charlotte Court House, said he opened his newest restaurant in the county because of his love of food and community.
“I wanted to give our community an awesome dining and bar/venue,” Badeaux said.
Magnolia Bar & Grille, located at 150 Kings Highway in Keysville, is named in honor of Badeaux’s mother, Brenda Lott.
“February will make 32 years I’ve worked in the food service industry, and when I was little, I use to pull up a chair and stand next to her so she could teach me how to cook,” Badeaux said. “I got my work ethic from my mom, and my passion for food started then.”
Badeaux said Magnolia Bar & Grille is a Southern-style Bistro with a modern spin on Classic Southern Cuisine.
“The atmosphere is a contemporary blend of rustic Southern charm,” he said.
In the course of his career, Badeaux has opened more than 20 other restaurants and bars.
Currently, Badeaux also owns Badeaux’s Seafood Grill in South Boston with his brother-in-law David Walters, along with business partner Ankur Brahmbhatt who owns Papa John’s Pizza in both Farmville and South Boston.
While at Magnolia Bar and Grille, Badeaux serves as executive chef with his team of Chef Lamonte Blount and General Manager Michelle Collie, who both have a love and passion for the food industry.
Magnolia Bar & Grille is open Wednesday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
