After a year-long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the region’s largest yard sale day will return on Saturday, July 3, beginning at 7 a.m.

New this year, the Southside Virginia 100 Mile Yard Sale will have stops in Drakes Branch as the town has agreed to be a sponsor.

According to many business owners along the route, in the past, the day of the Southside Virginia 100 Mile Yard Sale is the busiest day for their business.

Whether it’s a vendor filling up with gas, a group of shoppers taking a lunch break at a local restaurant, or out-of-towners lured in by yard sales checking out other small businesses, the entire community benefits from this event.

“We encourage everyone businesses, churches, civic organizations, local officials to get involved and get creative,” Jerri Morton, a representive with the Southside Virginia 100 Mile Yard Sale said.
