The Randolph-Henry High School volleyball teams had a volleyball camp for rising fourth through eighth graders Monday, July 12 and Tuesday, July 13.

The camp had 30 participants. Nine players from the previous volleyball season assisted Coaches Nikki Elder and Julianna Reeves.

Participants learned foundational skills for passing, hitting, and serving while having fun with various games and activities.

Coach Elder and Coach Reeves are hoping to spark interest in volleyball early in order to build the programs at both the middle school age and, later, the high school age.

“It is important to us for participants to learn the correct foundational skills and develop a love for the game early,” Elder said. “It is also important to us that our players at the high school level give back to the community. Our girls did a great job teaching and interacting with the younger players.”

The coaches are planning to make this an annual camp and potentially expand on it.
