The Virginia State Police (VSP) is continuing the investigate a crash that claimed the life of a 36-year-old Drakes Branch Man.

At 12:39 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15 VSP responded to a single-vehicle crash on Kings Highway at the Route 15 North exit ramp.

According to VSP, a 2011 Nissan Frontier driven by Jarrett L. Tharpe was traveling west on Kings Highway when it attempted to take the Route 15 North exit. The Nissan failed to make the exit ramp and ran off the road and struck a tree.

Tharpe, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
