As of the first of March, a new coffee shop began offering up custom-made coffee drinks and goodies.
Mother-daughter team Donna Crews and Desiree Lipscomb have opened D’s Coffee Delights, a drive-thru coffee shop aimed at selling a variety of coffee, espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, frappes and fruit smoothies in a variety of flavors as well as a few breakfast items.
To top it off, you can also get your Richlands Creamery ice cream fix at the new shop.
“I have always wanted to own a small business that would give me the opportunity to see a variety of customers in a pleasant environment,” said Crews. “I was intrigued by the drive-thru coffee shops and they definitely seem to be the going trend.”
A going trend it is.
The first week in operations, cars were lined up at the drive-thru with customers’ eagerly awaiting to get their caffeine fix.
“Our first week was amazing,” Crews said. “We were happily overwhelmed by the support and excitement from our customers.”
Crews said she chose Drakes Branch as the location for her business because the town is home to her.
“This is my hometown, and I still reside here,” Crews said. “I would love to see our little town thrive with businesses again as it did in my childhood.”
D’s Coffee Delights is currently open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“I want our customers to know we choose quality products and organic choices whenever possible and serve them up with a smile.”
