On Thursday, May 19 and Friday, May 20, the Lady Statesmen No. 1 and No. 2. Singles and Doubles competed in the Regional Tournament held at the Howard Mast Tennis Courts in Suffolk.

No. 1 Sophomore, Emily Tharpe, won the final singles match against A. Garris of Windsor High School with a score of 8-5.

No. 1 Doubles Emily Tharpe/Mary Scruggs, won the final doubles match against S. Litton/M. Woodruff of Poquoson High School with a score of 8-6.

No. 2 Doubles Madeline Clatterbuck/Kate Hamilton had their first showing at Regionals, both played competitively but were unfortunately eliminated in the first round.

Tharpe and Scruggs will be representing the Statesmen at the VHSL Tennis State Championships to be held at Virginia Tech Thursday, June 9 – Saturday, June 11.
