If you are a resident of Drakes Branch or maybe just passing through this week, you may notice a lot of activities taking place on Isabella Street.
According to Town of Drakes Branch officials, the old water tank has been sold and will be removed.
The tank has not been used for the past seven or eight years since the town’s new tank was erected and operationalized. Starting last week, dismantling and removing of the tank on Isabella Street began, and completion is expected to be done by Oct. 21.
According to town officials, the company that is dismantling the water tank is allowed to be on-site working from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Citizens living closest to this area need to be aware that there will be noise from the machinery while the work is being done.
Isabella Street, from Proctor Street, will be closed to thru traffic during this time.
The town is asking for residents/vehicles to avoid this area as much as possible during this process.
Residents living on Isabella Street can access their property by entering from Drakes Main Street.
