King’s legacy to be honored at Red Hill

The life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be honored during a community breakfast at Patrick Henry’s Red Hill on Monday, Jan. 16.
This event will focus on sharing the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through personal stories, his impact on the nation and how he inspired many through his Christian faith. Red Hill celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to honor him, the enslaved and freed who lived and worked at Red Hill. In Dr. King’s words “sons of former slaves and the sons of former slaveowners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood”.
Retired U.S. Army Brigadier General James Moore and Shawn Barksdale will be on hand to discuss Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s impact and how he inspired others through his Christian faith.
The event runs from 8 to 10 a.m. at Red Hill’s Casey Center, located at 1250 Red Hill Road in Brookneal. This is a reservation only event. To reserve your seat please visit www. redhill.org/events to reserve your tickets.
