Students perform Seussical

The Statesmen Players’ production of Seussical was a success. Leading up to this musical, the cast at Randolph-Henry High School worked on rehearsing choreography, singing, and blocking while the crew created all of the set pieces and props, designed the lighting, and managed the microphones/overall sound. The students played vital roles in every part of the production process, and school staff made it clear they are so proud of how hard the students worked. The newly installed cyclorama was a beautiful addition to the musical this year. This equipment allowed students to project various colors on a backdrop to create mood effects throughout the performance.

 

 

The Ides of March

In celebration of the Ides of March, Wednesday, March 15, was “Toga Day” at Randolph-Henry High School. Some of the English students were wrapping up a unit on Julius Caesar, while many of the History classes have been studying the culture of Rome. All students and staff were invited to wear their togas to school to celebrate this cross-curricular event.

 

 

 

Coaches challenge players

This season the Randolph-Henry High School baseball coaching staff has challenged players to this question: “What legacy do you want to leave behind?” Coaches and players have discussed what the word legacy means and how each person in the baseball program is responsible for the legacy of Statesmen Baseball. Players are reminded of guys who wore their number and left a legacy of either playing college/professional baseball, being individually inducted into the Randolph-Henry Hall of Fame, being an all-star participant, or being an All-State selection. “We know this is only a tiny part of the Statesmen Baseball legacy, but we want our guys to understand what an honor it is to wear the same # as some who paved the way,” said Head Baseball Coach Joshua Barmoy.
