Jones celebrates 100th birthday

Elizabeth Turner Jones, of Keysville, celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday, April 1 with family and friends.
Elizabeth was born March 31, 1923. She later met Wilbert Jones of Warrenton County, North Carolina and they were married on May 4, 1940.
She has three surviving children, three deceased children and her husband Wilbert is deceased. There are six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
Elizabeth is a member and active supporter of the St. Michael Baptist Church in Drakes Branch.
A ceremony was held at her home with Rev. James Goode, Rev. Haney Thomas, Jr., Rev. Leon Jackson, and Rev. Samuel Trent. After that, a parade of vehicles with friends honked and waved, leaving tokens of 100th birthday wishes. She received special accolades from Governor Youngkin, Senator Tim Kaine, and Senator Mark Warner. She gives God all the credit for her longevity.
