On April 29, Randolph-Henry High School hosted the annual prom and after-prom party.
This year’s theme was Enchanted Island, where ocean breezes sweep across palm trees and dancing happens surf side.
Two hundred-fourteen students attended the prom, making it the second largest in many years. Out of that number, 141 students remained on campus for the after-party.
Students were transported to a luxurious tropical paradise of palm trees, boardwalks, and ocean scenes. The after-prom party provided the atmosphere of a surf-side tiki party.
The Central Middle School cafeteria was adorned with several chandeliers, white and sand-colored table decorations, shells, and palms.
The Randolph -Henry High School After-Prom committee received numerous donations from area churches, businesses, individuals, and organizations, which enabled us to offer many exciting attractions this year.
Students were treated to t-shirts, sumo wrestling, a photo booth, casino card games, a light challenge inflatable, coloring, an obstacle course, corn hole, darts, a bungee cord race and more.

Staff members raffled off $1,500 in prizes throughout the night including a laptop, a Nintendo Switch, a mini refrigerator, headphones and other items. Some students also walked away with cash after participating in a money-grab booth.
While the After-Prom party is supposed to be a fun time for students, it is important to remember its purpose.
Providing students with a safe, alcohol-free place is a critical part of keeping the Charlotte County youth safe on prom night. As drugs and alcohol continue to take the lives of students across the nation, we are happy to report that attendance at our event was at an all-time high this year.
Randolph-Henry’s After-Prom committee hopes that attendance will continue to increase each year and that our students will always “arrive alive” after prom.
