The Staunton River Masonic Lodge recently awarded its 2023 Carleigh Shae Singleton Memorial Scholarship to Raegan Russell. She is a graduate of the Randolph-Henry High School Class of 2023 with an earned associate’s degree from Southside Virginia Community College. Raegan is also a member of Beta Club and Phi Theta Kappa honor societies. In the fall, she will be attending Longwood University to major in biology and pursue a career as a pharmacist. Raegan is the daughter of Chris and Tiffany Russell of Charlotte Court House. The award was given out in the amount of $1,000. Carleigh Shae was the 17-year-old daughter of Jerry and Sherri Singleton, who tragically died in a car wreck in 2019. She was a senior at William Campbell High School and had planned to pursue a career as a nurse. This scholarship is given annually in her memory to support others who desire to work in the medical profession. It is renewable for up to four years for recipients who maintain full-time enrollment in a college or university with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
