Saturday and Sunday, June 24 and 25, Red House Volunteer Fire Department hosted a Charlotte County Firefighter One class. Students worked on search and rescue practicals that helped them learn skills and techniques to locate and remove victims at fires and other emergencies. On Sunday students were back at it. Seventeen students representing all seven departments in Charlotte County along with a student from Brookneal Volunteer Fire Department completed ventilation practicals on Sunday. These students are volunteering countless hours to improve their own departments and make the county’s communities safer.
