The Southside Virginia Herb Society awarded its scholarship to Preston Simpson of Halifax County High School. In his winning essay, Simpson wrote “The Heathy Harvest Community Garden is where I found my love for science, and has ultimately convinced me to study biology in pursuit of my career in dentistry.” Pictured with Simpson and presenting the award is Kathy Cornell, Herb Society Treasurer.
