William Howard Thompson, 81 of Drakes Branch, passed away on Aug. 7, at his residence. He was the son of the late Wilbert Thompson and Lottie Venable Thompson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his childhood sweetheart, Elizabeth Bernice Friend Thompson, and son, Patrick Howard Thompson.

He is survived by his children: Wayne Terrance Thompson (Ana) of Richmond, Evelyn Denise Graves, Lisa Thompson-Traynham and Debreta Thompson-Clark, all of Drakes Branch; his grandchildren: Nicole Thompson, Tevan Eggleston, Whitney Traynham, Oneisha Clark, Kayla Thompson and Shaunna Toombs; one great grandson, Christian Williams; two sisters, Lenore Gilmore and Lottie Butts; two brothers, Fred and Thomas Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m., at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel in Brookneal. Condolences may be expressed at http:// www.JeffressFuneralHome.com.
