‘Tis the season … for pumpkins, that is, and one Charlotte County farm may have just what you are looking for. Condrey’s Pumpkins, a small family-run pumpkin patch located at 5075 Mossingford Road, Saxe, has been growing a variety of pumpkins since May and is getting ready to open its patch for the season.

Cody and Erika Condrey have been raising pumpkins for over ten years, but Cody has been raising pumpkins since he was little.

“If you’ve ever been to Courthouse Road in Chesterfield, that pumpkin patch was Cody’s grandfather’s before he sold it to another family member before retiring,” said Erika. “While Papa Condrey is no longer with us, we keep the tradition alive and strong.”

Condrey’s Pumpkins is truly a family-run business, as Cody and Erika’s three children, ages 10, 6, and 2 years old all help out during the planting season. “My mom, father-in-law, and grandmother also help,” Erika said.

The Condrey’s grow a variety of big pumpkins, jack-o-lanterns, specialty pumpkins, and gourds, and this year, the couple says they are excited about growing their biggest pumpkin ever.

“While we are not a big operation, we’ve slowly grown a little yearly,” Erika said.

Condrey’s Pumpkins will open for the season on Sept. 30 and be open each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays, available by appointment during weekdays.

In addition to pumpkins, seasonally themed crafts, mums, and baked goods are available on the weekends as well.
